Welcome to SVMS Physical Education. We look forward to a great year, experiencing many sport activities, personal goal setting and achievement - all mixed in with FUN.
Just a few highlights from the policy:
Students need to wear their uniform daily (shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes)
Our cardio day is WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY - all activities on this day will focus on increasing individual's heart rate to gain the greatest benefit from their exercising. Circuit training, timed runs, gym games, etc...
Medical notes/parents notes - parent notes are only accepted for 5 days (as indicated by the parent) Longer than 5 days, the student will need a Dr.'s note.
Make up for absences - REFER TO THE POLICY FOR DIRECTIONS
Full policy is available for viewing/printing in student PE locker in School Loop - Policy agreement is due Friday, August 23, 2019
I have been in education for 25+ years after graduating from UC Davis, majoring in Managerial Economics. I received my teaching credential in Physical Education from St. Mary’s College.
I enjoy teaching P.E. because I get to see the excitement on a student's face when he/she accomplishes a skill that was challenging. I love to bring a new twist to traditional games and teach students that physical activity should be lifelong for all of us. I am excited to see what each student "brings" to the class and I look forward to learning alongside my students.
When I am not teaching, I am coaching volleyball for NorCal Volleyball Club. I am also very involved with my church playing the keyboard and singing with our worship team.
I have been married for 30 years to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 daughters - our oldest is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, our middle daughter is a Nursing student at Boise State , and our youngest is a 4th year student at Cal Poly SLO studying Child Development and Psychology. I just recently became a grandma with the addition of a beautiful grandson.
I was born in Walnut Creek, CA and grew up in the East Bay area - I went through the SRVUSD school system - John Baldwin Elem., Charlotte Wood (old downtown site), Monte Vista H.S.
I love to travel--a love fostered by my parents. I lived and schooled throughout the South Pacific for a year, and have traveled throughout Europe, USA, and Mexico.
